On the 36-inch Bertazzoni French door models, EO is the display's report that the ice maker itself has a problem. The rest of the unit keeps cooling and freezing, but ice production may stop until the ice maker is checked. Bertazzoni ice maker display What to do when EO shows on the ice maker ### Kind of code Ice making and harvest The ice maker froze a batch and could not release it, or the harvest never started: the ejector arm or the twisting tray stalled, the mold heater did not loosen the cubes, or the arm that senses a full bin reported the wrong thing. Ice jammed against the arm and a bin pushed in crooked are cleared first; a motor module or a whole ice maker assembly comes after. ### Usually leads to Ice maker assembly replacement A new ice maker module fitted in the freezer compartment or the door compartment, after the water, the temperature and the bin sensor have been proved good, so the new part is not blamed for an old problem. ### Shows up as No Ice Coming From the Ice Maker The mold sits empty or holds one frozen batch that never drops, the bin stays bare for days, and the dispenser gives water as usual: an ice maker not making ice while the rest of the appliance carries on normally. ### Make Bertazzoni Bertazzoni ice makers repaired in the home, starting from the model label and the water that feeds the unit. ### Source Bertazzoni RFD36FZNX / RFD36FZNW user and installation manual (us.bertazzoni.com PDF) Printed in the use manual for the RFD36FZNX and RFD36FZNW French door models. Bertazzoni's columns and bottom-mount units use other displays and do not list EO. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for EO on its ice makers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Open the freezer drawer and make sure the ice box is seated and the cubes under the ice maker are not frozen into one lump. 02 Confirm the ice making icon is lit, the water shutoff behind the unit is open and the supply line has no kinks. 03 Keep food where it is, since cooling is not affected, and book a visit if EO stays on the display. ### Still there? It usually turns into [ice maker assembly replacement](https://icemakerrepair.center/services/ice-maker-assembly-replacement/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do EO does not say the freezer is warm or that the compressor has stopped. Bertazzoni's table keeps it separate from the temperature sensor and communication codes, and the unit goes on cooling with it showing. ## What you may notice with it. Open the freezer drawer and make sure the ice box is seated and the cubes under the ice maker are not frozen into one lump. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Is it safe to keep using my Bertazzoni French door model while EO is showing? Yes for food: Bertazzoni says the unit still cools and freezes with this code. Only the ice maker is in question, so expect little or no new ice until it is repaired. ### Can a lump of frozen cubes bring up EO on a Bertazzoni ice maker? The manual does not tie EO to the ice box, but cubes fused under the ice maker can stall it, so clearing and emptying the box is a sensible first step. If EO stays after that, the ice maker needs testing. ### Does EO on a Bertazzoni RFD36 mean the whole ice maker must be replaced? Not always. EO says the control has flagged the ice maker, and the cause may be the assembly, its motor, the water it receives or the wiring to it. A technician tests those before choosing a part. --- **[Read on the site: Bertazzoni French door ice maker showing EO](https://icemakerrepair.center/error-codes/bertazzoni-eo/)** **[Book a visit with IceMakerRepair.center](https://icemakerrepair.center/schedule/)**
