The flashing water filter symbol is Bertazzoni's reminder that the filter feeding the ice maker and water dispenser is due. On the built-in columns it flashes and beeps when the counter runs out; on the 36-inch French door models the icon lights at 330 days and starts flashing at 360. Bertazzoni ice maker display · also shown as Filter icon What to do when Water filter symbol shows on the ice maker ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Something the ice maker was switched into, often without anyone noticing, rather than something that broke: ice turned off from the panel or by the wire arm lifted while reaching into the bin, a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a cleaning cycle still running, a reminder that the water filter is due. No part has worn out, and the ice maker's own buttons or arm put it right. ### Usually leads to No repair Replace the filter cartridge following your model's manual, with the water supply shut off where the manual asks for it. ### Shows up as Ice Maker Light Flashing An ice maker light flashing where it used to glow steadily: a blinking power or ice light, a flashing clean or descale symbol, an add-water light, or a status light on the ice maker itself. ### Make Bertazzoni Bertazzoni ice makers repaired in the home, starting from the model label and the water that feeds the unit. ### Source Bertazzoni built-in column installation and use manual (us.bertazzoni.com PDF) Built-in columns (REF18FCBIPRV/PLV, REF24FCBIPNV, REF24RCBPNV, REF30RCBPNV): flashes and beeps on its counter. Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for Water filter symbol on its ice makers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Replace the filter cartridge following your model's manual, with the water supply shut off where the manual asks for it. 02 Reset the counter: hold SELECT for 5 seconds on the built-in columns, or hold the filter reset button for 3 seconds on the RFD36 French door models. 03 Run water through the dispenser and throw away the first bin of ice, since air and contaminants come out of a new cartridge. ### Cleared? The ice maker is filling and dropping cubes again and no part was needed. If the same code returns during the next harvest, or water shows up on the floor again, book it as a new problem. ### What not to do The symbol does not measure how clean the water is; it counts days. It will come back on schedule even on a column fitted with the water plug instead of a filter. ## What you may notice with it. The ice maker problems Water filter symbol tends to arrive with. Replace the filter cartridge following your model's manual, with the water supply shut off where the manual asks for it. ### Why does my Bertazzoni column beep with the water filter symbol even though I use the water plug? The counter runs on time, not on filter use, and Bertazzoni says the reminder comes up even with the plug installed. Reset it with SELECT held for 5 seconds and it will start counting again. ### My Bertazzoni French door filter icon is lit but not flashing. Do I need a filter now? The icon lights at 330 days as an early notice and only flashes at 360. Order a cartridge when it lights, fit it before the flashing starts, and reset the counter afterward. ### Can an overdue filter make my Bertazzoni ice cubes smaller? Yes. Bertazzoni notes that a worn filter cuts the flow of water to the ice maker, and less water per fill means thinner cubes. A new cartridge and a reset usually bring cube size back. --- **[Read on the site: Bertazzoni water filter symbol flashing on the ice maker panel](https://icemakerrepair.center/error-codes/bertazzoni-water-filter-symbol/)** **[Book a visit with IceMakerRepair.center](https://icemakerrepair.center/schedule/)**
