Bosch gives E02 two possible causes: an ice maker that is not working, or a communication problem among the controls that run ice and water. Both stop ice production, and telling them apart takes a test of the ice maker, the harness and the boards. Bosch ice maker display What to do when E02 shows on the ice maker ### Kind of code Control board and communication The boards that run the ice maker stopped hearing each other, or one of them failed: the main control lost contact with the dispenser panel or the ice maker module, or a board reported an electrical problem of its own. Water that dripped onto a connector and a loose harness are checked before a board is ordered by model number. If the ice maker keeps tripping the breaker, leave it off until the visit. ### Usually leads to Ice maker control and sensor repair The control board, the thermistors, the bin sensor and the wiring that decide when an ice maker fills, freezes and stops, tested and repaired when a light flashes, a code shows, a breaker trips or the ice never stops coming. ### Shows up as No Ice Coming From the Ice Maker The mold sits empty or holds one frozen batch that never drops, the bin stays bare for days, and the dispenser gives water as usual: an ice maker not making ice while the rest of the appliance carries on normally. ### Make Bosch Repair visits for Bosch ice makers, from a slow fill to a bin that stays empty. ### Source Bosch refrigeration error codes Bosch French door and bottom-freezer models with an ice maker. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Bosch's own guidance for E02 on its ice makers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Switch the breaker off for 30 seconds and back on, as Bosch advises. 02 Watch whether the dispenser panel responds and the ice maker cycles over the next few hours. 03 If E02 comes back, book a visit so the ice maker and its wiring can be tested. ### Still there? It also is not the dispenser panel code, which Bosch lists as E03. ## What you may notice with it. The ice maker problems E02 tends to arrive with. Switch the breaker off for 30 seconds and back on, as Bosch advises. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Does Bosch E02 always mean a new ice maker? No. Bosch names two causes, and the second is communication among the ice and water controls. A technician tests before replacing anything. ### Will a power reset clear E02 on my Bosch? Sometimes. Bosch's first step is a 30-second breaker reset; if E02 returns, the cause is still there. ### Can a Bosch keep cooling normally while E02 shows? Yes. E02 concerns ice and water, so the cabinet usually keeps its temperature. --- **[Read on the site: Bosch E02: the ice maker or its controls](https://icemakerrepair.center/error-codes/bosch-e02/)** **[Book a visit with IceMakerRepair.center](https://icemakerrepair.center/schedule/)**
