Er gF on a Kenmore 795 is a flow meter code. The flow meter measures water entering the refrigerator for the ice maker and dispenser, and Sears asks for water pressure and flow to be checked first. Kenmore ice maker display What to do when Er gF shows on the ice maker ### Kind of code Water supply and fill The ice maker asked for water and got too little, too slowly or none at all, or water kept arriving after the fill should have ended. A closed shutoff, a kinked line, a clogged filter and low house pressure are ruled out before the water inlet valve is replaced or the fill tube is thawed. If water is on the floor, close the supply valve before reading anything on the display. ### Usually leads to Ice maker water inlet valve repair The electric valve that lets water into the ice maker, tested and replaced when it will not open, opens only partway, or keeps dripping after it should have closed. ### Shows up as No Ice Coming From the Ice Maker The mold sits empty or holds one frozen batch that never drops, the bin stays bare for days, and the dispenser gives water as usual: an ice maker not making ice while the rest of the appliance carries on normally. ### Make Kenmore Kenmore ice maker repair, with the series identified from the printed model number before a part is chosen. ### Source Sears PartsDirect: Kenmore 795 bottom-freezer error codes (Wayback copy, Jan 2021) Kenmore models whose number begins 795 with a water dispenser or ice maker. ## Before you book, in this order. Make sure the supply valve behind the refrigerator is fully open. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### What does the flow meter do on a Kenmore 795? It measures the water coming into the refrigerator. When it sees too little or none, the control shows Er gF. ### Can a clogged filter cause Er gF on a Kenmore? A clogged filter restricts flow, so replacing it is a sensible early step. ### What if water pressure is fine and Kenmore still shows Er gF? Then the flow meter or the inlet valve is suspect.
