LG uses C1 for a communication error between the LCD display and the dispenser. The dispenser may ignore presses or act on its own, and because the wiring runs through the door hinge, a pinched harness is one of the things checked. LG ice maker display What to do when C1 shows on the ice maker ### Kind of code Control board and communication The boards that run the ice maker stopped hearing each other, or one of them failed: the main control lost contact with the dispenser panel or the ice maker module, or a board reported an electrical problem of its own. Water that dripped onto a connector and a loose harness are checked before a board is ordered by model number. Note whether the dispenser responds at all while C1 shows. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### My LG dispenser stopped working and C1 shows. What happened? LG says the display and the dispenser have stopped communicating. The dispenser cannot receive your selection until that link is restored. ### Is LG C1 the same as CO? No. LG uses C1 for the display-to-dispenser link and CO for the link between the control board and the display. ### Can opening and closing the doors cause C1 on an LG? The wiring passes through the door hinge, so repeated flexing can damage it over time.
