LG uses It for a defect in the icemaker itself, rather than its fan or sensor. The ice maker usually stops filling or harvesting, and LG gives no owner steps, so the assembly needs to be tested and often replaced. LG ice maker display · also shown as iT What to do when It shows on the ice maker ### Kind of code Ice making and harvest The ice maker froze a batch and could not release it, or the harvest never started: the ejector arm or the twisting tray stalled, the mold heater did not loosen the cubes, or the arm that senses a full bin reported the wrong thing. Ice jammed against the arm and a bin pushed in crooked are cleared first; a motor module or a whole ice maker assembly comes after. ### Usually leads to Ice maker assembly replacement A new ice maker module fitted in the freezer compartment or the door compartment, after the water, the temperature and the bin sensor have been proved good, so the new part is not blamed for an old problem. ### Shows up as No Ice Coming From the Ice Maker The mold sits empty or holds one frozen batch that never drops, the bin stays bare for days, and the dispenser gives water as usual: an ice maker not making ice while the rest of the appliance carries on normally. ### Make LG LG ice maker repair, from a door ice maker that frosts over to a dispenser that stops. ### Source LG error code list (Wayback, 17 Jan 2025) LG models with a door or freezer ice maker. ## Before you book, in this order. Check the ice maker's on/off setting to rule out a switched-off ice maker. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### What part is usually replaced after an LG It code? LG describes It as a defect in the icemaker, so the ice maker assembly is the first suspect. A technician tests its motor and wiring before replacing it. ### Can a jam of ice cause the It code on my LG? LG does not name jams as a cause. Clearing any jam is still sensible, but if It returns the ice maker itself needs testing. ### On an LG with two ice makers, which one does It refer to? LG's list does not say. On Craft Ice models the technician checks the door ice maker and the Craft Ice maker separately; LG also has EIU for the freezer compartment ice maker assembly. --- **[Read on the site: LG It: a defect in the ice maker itself](https://icemakerrepair.center/error-codes/lg-it/)** **[Book a visit with IceMakerRepair.center](https://icemakerrepair.center/schedule/)**
