Samsung lists 39E, and 39C on some displays, as an Ice Maker Function problem. The control has watched the ice maker try to work and found that the mechanism did not do its job, for example a tray that did not turn or a harvest that did not finish. Samsung ice maker display · also shown as 39C What to do when 39E shows on the ice maker ### Kind of code Ice making and harvest The ice maker froze a batch and could not release it, or the harvest never started: the ejector arm or the twisting tray stalled, the mold heater did not loosen the cubes, or the arm that senses a full bin reported the wrong thing. Ice jammed against the arm and a bin pushed in crooked are cleared first; a motor module or a whole ice maker assembly comes after. ### Usually leads to Ice maker assembly replacement A new ice maker module fitted in the freezer compartment or the door compartment, after the water, the temperature and the bin sensor have been proved good, so the new part is not blamed for an old problem. ### Shows up as No Ice Coming From the Ice Maker The mold sits empty or holds one frozen batch that never drops, the bin stays bare for days, and the dispenser gives water as usual: an ice maker not making ice while the rest of the appliance carries on normally. ### Make Samsung Samsung ice maker repair, with the door ice maker, the dispenser and the water line in scope. ### Source Samsung error codes page Samsung models with an in-door or freezer ice maker; the page lists 39E and 39C together. ## Before you book, in this order. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Take out the ice bucket and look for cubes jammed in the tray or stuck between the ice maker and the bucket. 02 Clear any jam with warm water, never a sharp tool, dry the area and put the bucket back fully. 03 Press the ice maker Test button once if your model has one, and book a visit if the code returns or the test chimes several times. ### Still there? Take out the ice bucket and look for cubes jammed in the tray or stuck between the ice maker and the bucket. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Is 39C on a Samsung the same as 39E? Samsung lists 39E and 39C together under the same Ice Maker Function meaning. The letter differs by model and display. ### Can a jam of ice cause 39E on a Samsung? It can. If cubes jam the tray or the ice maker cannot complete its harvest, the function check fails; clearing the jam and resetting is the first step. ### What should happen when I press Test after a Samsung 39E? Samsung counts one chime as a pass after the test. Several chimes mean the ice maker still has a problem, and it is time to book a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Samsung 39E or 39C: ice maker function](https://icemakerrepair.center/error-codes/samsung-39e/)** **[Book a visit with IceMakerRepair.center](https://icemakerrepair.center/schedule/)**
