On True's 15-inch clear ice models, hot alternating with GAS means hot gas valve failure. That valve sends warm refrigerant through the evaporator at harvest so the cubes let go; without it, ice stays stuck and production stops. True Residential ice maker display · also shown as hot, GAS What to do when hot GAS shows on the ice maker ### Kind of code Ice making and harvest The ice maker froze a batch and could not release it, or the harvest never started: the ejector arm or the twisting tray stalled, the mold heater did not loosen the cubes, or the arm that senses a full bin reported the wrong thing. Ice jammed against the arm and a bin pushed in crooked are cleared first; a motor module or a whole ice maker assembly comes after. ### Usually leads to Ice maker assembly replacement A new ice maker module fitted in the freezer compartment or the door compartment, after the water, the temperature and the bin sensor have been proved good, so the new part is not blamed for an old problem. ### Shows up as No Ice Coming From the Ice Maker The mold sits empty or holds one frozen batch that never drops, the bin stays bare for days, and the dispenser gives water as usual: an ice maker not making ice while the rest of the appliance carries on normally. ### Make True Residential True Residential undercounter ice maker repair, from a slow harvest to water that will not drain. ### Source True 15-inch TRUE ICE (TUI-15-D) install guide, Electronic Display Codes (true-caliber.com PDF) True Residential 15-inch clear ice models (TUI-15-D, and the ADA-height TUIADA-15-D). Turn the unit off with the power button. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Does hot GAS on my True mean there is a gas leak? No. The code is about the hot gas valve in the refrigeration system, which warms the evaporator to release the cubes. There is no fuel gas in the unit. ### What happens to ice when the True hot gas valve fails? The cubes do not release from the evaporator at harvest, so they stay frozen in place and no new batch can start. ### Can I restart my True after hot GAS appears? True's instruction for this code is to contact a service company rather than keep restarting it. --- **[Read on the site: True clear ice maker showing hot GAS: hot gas valve](https://icemakerrepair.center/error-codes/true-hot-gas/)** **[Book a visit with IceMakerRepair.center](https://icemakerrepair.center/schedule/)**
