What does it mean? The pattern of blinks is the unit's way of naming a problem, and each maker has its own list: a clean reminder, a water supply problem, a drain problem or a sensor reading out of range. The guide or the label inside the door often lists them, and a photo of the blinking helps the technician. ### Why does the ice maker keep filling the bin until ice spills out? The bin sensor is not seeing the full bin: a wire arm bent out of position, an optical sensor with frost or dirt on its lens, or a sensor that has failed. The control keeps harvesting because it believes there is room. ### The breaker trips whenever the ice maker runs. Is it safe to keep resetting it? No. A breaker that trips again is telling you there is a short or water in the wiring, often from a leak near a connector or the heater. Leave the breaker off, close the water supply if there is any sign of water, and have the circuit checked before it is used again. ### Can a control board be repaired instead of replaced? A board with a corroded connector or a burned plug can sometimes be saved by cleaning the contacts or replacing the plug.
