Book a visit

Book an ice maker
repair visit.

This form is all it takes to book an ice maker visit. There is no card to enter, and you owe nothing until a technician has looked at the ice maker and its water supply and told you what they need.

Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

What the form asks,
and why.

What you type here reaches the technician before the visit, which makes it more likely the right valve, fill tube heater or filter is already in the van. Sending it does not tie you to anything; the ice maker is priced only once it has been diagnosed.

Have the model number to hand if you can find it: where the water valve is covers the usual places.

Step oneWhich ice maker, and what it is doing

In the door, in the freezer, under the counter or on the countertop, the make, and whether the trouble is no ice, bad ice, a dispenser or water where it should not be. That decides who comes out and which valves and assemblies ride along.

Step twoThe date and the arrival window

Pick a day and a window that let you carry on with your plans instead of waiting at home all day.

Step threeGetting in to the ice maker

Where the ice maker is and a number the technician can reach on the day. Say where the water shutoff for the ice maker is if you know, whether you rent or own, and add any gate code, parking tip or pet to know about.

After you book,
the visit.

The three steps above are the booking. These four are what happens once a technician is in your kitchen.

What repairs cost
01

Water traced from the valve to the mold

The technician checks the supply valve, the line, the filter and the pressure at the inlet, then runs a fill and a harvest, all before naming the part that failed.

02

A number before the work

You hear what the ice maker needs and what it will cost before a single part goes in. If a new assembly or a new unit makes more sense than repairing this one, you hear that too.

03

Everyday ice maker parts already on board

Water inlet valves, supply line fittings, fill tube heaters and common filters travel in the van. A complete ice maker assembly, a drain pump or a control board for one model is ordered by number, so sharing that number at booking can save a second trip.

04

Filled, frozen and dropped in front of you

With the new part in, the technician runs a test fill, checks every fitting for a drip, and watches the first harvest or the first push through the dispenser, so the repair is proved while you are there.

Before the
technician arrives.

Three things that make the first visit the only one.

What a code means

Leave the ice button alone

Pressing the paddle over and over on a jammed dispenser or cycling the ice maker off and on can burn out a motor and wipe a stored code. If water is reaching the floor, close the supply valve and leave it closed until the visit.

Copy any code or blink pattern

If the panel shows letters or a light keeps blinking, write down what it shows and how many blinks. A different make can use the same code for a different part.

Empty the bin and clear the way

Bag the ice and set it in a cooler or the sink, clear a path to the back or the front of the unit, and find the water shutoff if you can. Note when the trouble began and what came before it: a new filter, a move, a power outage, a plumber working nearby.

Questions
about booking.

Is there a charge to book an ice maker visit?
No. No card, no deposit, nothing held. The ice maker is diagnosed first, you get the repair and its figure in plain words, and no part goes in until you say yes.
Where do I find the model number on my ice maker?
For an ice maker in the door or the freezer, check the inside wall of the fresh food section or the frame under the crisper drawers. An undercounter unit usually has it just inside the door opening or behind the kick plate, and a countertop nugget maker on its underside. If you cannot find it, book anyway and the technician will read it on the day.
I would rather talk to someone about the ice maker. Can I call?
Yes. Our number and opening hours sit at the top of each page. The form reaches that same team, and it keeps working when every line is taken.
What happens if my ice maker is not worth repairing?
The technician tells you at the diagnosis and explains why, before any repair is priced. Sometimes the honest answer is a new ice maker assembly rather than a new unit, and sometimes it is neither; hearing which is part of what the visit is for.
