What EE
actually means.
EE on a 36-inch Bertazzoni French door model points at the sensor that belongs to the ice maker. Bertazzoni keeps it apart from the freezer's own sensor, and the unit goes on cooling while it shows, though ice may be affected until the sensor is checked.

What to do when EE shows on the ice makerKind of codeTemperature sensors
The control lost track of how cold the ice mold or the ice compartment is, because a thermistor reads nonsense or its wire lost contact. Without that reading the ice maker cannot tell when a batch is frozen, so it stops or harvests at the wrong time. Frost packed around the sensor and a loose plug are checked before the sensor itself is changed.
Usually leads toIce maker control and sensor repair
The control board, the thermistors, the bin sensor and the wiring that decide when an ice maker fills, freezes and stops, tested and repaired when a light flashes, a code shows, a breaker trips or the ice never stops coming.
Shows up asNo Ice Coming From the Ice Maker
The mold sits empty or holds one frozen batch that never drops, the bin stays bare for days, and the dispenser gives water as usual: an ice maker not making ice while the rest of the appliance carries on normally.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for EE on its ice makers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Leave the freezer drawer closed for a few hours so the ice maker area can settle at freezer temperature.
Switch the unit off at the breaker for a minute and back on to see whether EE clears.
If EE returns, book a visit; the sensor or its connection needs testing.
Still there?
It usually turns into ice maker control and sensor repair. Book with the code and the model number.
What not to do
EE is not the freezer compartment sensor, which Bertazzoni lists separately as E2. A reading problem at the ice maker leaves the freezer's own temperature control untouched.
What you may
notice with it.
The ice maker problems EE tends to arrive with. Answer these at the ice maker before anyone is booked.

Still showing EE?
Book with the code or the blink pattern written exactly as the ice maker shows it, the full model number, and whether there is any water on the floor — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
