What E03
actually means.
Bosch links E03 to the user interface of the dispenser. The panel may not respond, may pick the wrong function or may not start the dispenser at all, while the ice maker behind it can still be working.
Bosch ice maker display
What to do when E03 shows on the ice makerKind of codeDispenser and auger
The dispenser was asked for ice and could not deliver it: the auger motor stalled against a frozen block, the flap at the bottom of the chute stayed shut, or the paddle switch never told the control it was pressed. Emptying the bin and thawing the chute come before the auger motor, the door flap solenoid or the switch is replaced.
Usually leads toIce dispenser and auger repair
The auger, its motor, the crusher, the chute flap and the paddle switch that move ice from the bin to your glass, or push soft nugget ice up and out, checked and repaired when the ice stops coming.
Shows up asIce Dispenser Not Working
The ice dispenser not working means you press the paddle and nothing comes, or the motor hums without ice, or only a few chips fall while the bin behind the door is full.

Switch the breaker off for 30 seconds and back on.
Try each dispenser selection and note which ones respond.
If E03 returns, book a visit; the interface board or its connection needs testing.

What not to do
E03 does not mean the ice maker has stopped; it concerns the panel on the door. It is also not a water supply problem.

Door ice maker
The ice maker that feeds the dispenser on the outside of a door: tucked into an insulated box in the left door of a French door model, or at the top of the freezer side of a side-by-side, with a chute and an auger carrying cubes to your glass.
Freezer ice maker
The ice maker that sits inside the freezer compartment itself, a tray that twists or a mold with a heater and an ejector, dropping cubes into a bin or drawer you open by hand, with no dispenser on the door.
