SKS column freezers show an Ice On/Off icon that is lit while the ice maker runs and dark when it has been switched off. Other SKS models use their own control for the same thing, such as the In-Door Ice button and the Craft Ice OFF mode on the counter-depth French door.

Make sure the water line is connected and the shutoff is open before you switch the ice maker on.

Hold the Ice On/Off button (or In-Door Ice on the counter-depth model) for three seconds; on Craft Ice models choose 3 Ice or 6 Ice.

Give the new unit up to a day to produce, shake the bin level if ice piles to one side, and book a visit if nothing drops after that.

The ice maker is filling and dropping cubes again and no part was needed. If the same code returns during the next harvest, or water shows up on the floor again, book it as a new problem.

Can I clear Ice On/Off icon myself?

Why is my SKS column freezer ice maker buzzing with the Ice On/Off icon lit?
The fill valve buzzes whenever the ice maker is on and trying to fill, even with no water line hooked up. SKS warns that running it dry can damage the ice maker, so turn it off until the line is connected.
Should I empty the SKS ice bin after turning the ice maker off?
Yes. The column freezer manual asks for the bin to be emptied whenever the Ice On/Off icon is off, so old cubes do not freeze together while nothing new is made.
My SKS counter-depth model makes Craft Ice but no regular ice. Which setting is off?
That model has two separate ice makers. The in-door ice maker has its own In-Door Ice button held for three seconds, while Craft Ice is set by cycling through 3 ICE, 6 ICE and OFF.
