SKS door dispenser locked: no ice with the Lock indicator on

On SKS models with a door dispenser, holding the Lock button for three seconds locks the dispenser together with every other button on the panel.

Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 773-0701

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from SKS's own guidance for Lock on its ice makers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Look for the lock indicator on the dispenser control panel.

02

Press and hold the Lock button for about three seconds until the indicator goes out.

03

Try the paddle again with a glass; if the lock is off and still nothing drops, check the chute for frozen ice before you book a visit.

Cleared?

The ice maker is filling and dropping cubes again and no part was needed. If the same code returns during the next harvest, or water shows up on the floor again, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

A locked dispenser is not a broken auger or a jammed chute. The ice maker is still working behind the door; only the controls have been locked.

What you may
notice with it.

The ice maker problems Lock tends to arrive with. Answer these at the ice maker before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the ice maker was switched into, often without anyone noticing, rather than something that broke: ice turned off from the panel or by the wire arm lifted while reaching into the bin, a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a cleaning cycle still running, a reminder that the water filter is due. No part has worn out, and the ice maker's own buttons or arm put it right.

In SKS's own words

Questions
about Lock.

Can I clear Lock myself?
Look for the lock indicator on the dispenser control panel.
Why do none of the buttons work on my SKS dispenser panel?
When Lock is on, SKS disables every other button, so the panel ignores every press but Lock. Hold Lock for about three seconds to release it.
Does locking the SKS dispenser switch off the ice maker?
No. The lock covers the dispenser and panel buttons only, so the ice maker keeps making ice into the in-door bin while the paddle does nothing.
My SKS lock is off but crushed ice still will not come out. What else is it?
SKS notes that using only crushed ice can let frost build up in the ice passage. Take out the bin, clear the passage with a rubber spatula, and dispense cubes now and then to keep it open.

Back to your everyday

Still showing Lock?

Book with the code or the blink pattern written exactly as the ice maker shows it, the full model number, and whether there is any water on the floor — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
