What C1
actually means.
LG uses C1 for a communication error between the LCD display and the dispenser. The dispenser may ignore presses or act on its own, and because the wiring runs through the door hinge, a pinched harness is one of the things checked.

What to do when C1 shows on the ice makerKind of codeControl board and communication
The boards that run the ice maker stopped hearing each other, or one of them failed: the main control lost contact with the dispenser panel or the ice maker module, or a board reported an electrical problem of its own. Water that dripped onto a connector and a loose harness are checked before a board is ordered by model number. If the ice maker keeps tripping the breaker, leave it off until the visit.
