What P1
actually means.
On U-Line clear ice and craft ice models fitted with a drain pump, P1 in the error log means the pump circuit is open. A pump that is out of circuit cannot move melt water and rinse water out, so water can build up in the bin.

What to do when P1 shows on the ice makerKind of codeDrain and pump
An undercounter ice maker could not get rid of its meltwater or its rinse water: the drain pump did not run, its float stuck, or the drain line is blocked, kinked or frozen. Water backing up inside can spill onto the floor, so the water supply is closed before anything else, then the line and the pump are cleared or replaced.
Usually leads toDrain pump and drain line repair
The drain that carries meltwater and unused water out of a built-in ice maker, whether by gravity or with a small pump, cleared, re-routed or given a new pump when water stands in the bin or spills out of the door.
Shows up asUndercounter Ice Maker Not Draining
An undercounter ice maker not draining leaves standing water in the bottom of the bin, turns cubes into a slushy layer, smells musty, or shows a drain light.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from U-Line's own guidance for P1 on its ice makers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Look for standing water in the bin; if it is rising, turn the unit off and close the water shutoff.
Check that the pump's power cord and drain hose are connected and the hose has no kinks.
Book a visit so the pump and its wiring can be tested.

It usually turns into drain pump and drain line repair. Book with the code and the model number.
What not to do
P1 is not a clog in the drain line. A blocked hose leaves the pump running, while P1 means the pump circuit itself is open.
