Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 773-0701

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Sub-Zero's own guidance for REPLACE FILTER on its ice makers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the unit off with POWER and scoop the ice out of the bin.

02

Turn the old filter a quarter turn counterclockwise, fit the new one a quarter turn clockwise, then run the unit for three minutes, switch it off and on.

03

Touch and hold CLEAN for 6 seconds to reset the reminder; book a visit if ice making stays poor with a fresh filter.

Cleared?

The ice maker is filling and dropping cubes again and no part was needed. If the same code returns during the next harvest, or water shows up on the floor again, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

REPLACE FILTER is a maintenance reminder, not a sign that anything has failed. The unit keeps making ice while it is lit.

What you may
notice with it.

The ice maker problems REPLACE FILTER tends to arrive with. Answer these at the ice maker before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the ice maker was switched into, often without anyone noticing, rather than something that broke: ice turned off from the panel or by the wire arm lifted while reaching into the bin, a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a cleaning cycle still running, a reminder that the water filter is due. No part has worn out, and the ice maker's own buttons or arm put it right.

Questions
about REPLACE FILTER.

Can I clear REPLACE FILTER myself?
Turn the unit off with POWER and scoop the ice out of the bin.
Do I have to shut off the water to change the Sub-Zero UC-15I filter?
No. The ice maker bypasses the filter while it is removed, so the supply can stay on during the swap.
I fitted a new filter in my Sub-Zero UC-15I, so why is REPLACE FILTER still red?
The reminder does not reset on its own. Hold CLEAN for 6 seconds after fitting the new filter to clear it.
Can an overdue filter make a Sub-Zero undercounter ice maker slow?
Yes. Sub-Zero lists a clogged filter among the causes of low ice production and poor cubes, so a due filter is worth changing before other checks.

Still showing REPLACE FILTER?

Book with the code or the blink pattern written exactly as the ice maker shows it, the full model number, and whether there is any water on the floor — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
