What is particular
to Fisher & Paykel.

We service Fisher & Paykel integrated column freezers with ice makers and the freezer ice makers in its quad door and French door refrigerator-freezers. Integrated and freestanding models use different panels.

Ice as a panel feature

On column freezers the Ice and Ice Boost features are chosen at the panel, and only in the lower compartment. A compartment set to Soft Freeze cannot make ice, and any cubes already in the bin may melt and clump.

Ice Boost for parties

Ice Boost raises production by up to 30 percent and switches itself off after 24 hours. An owner who expects it to stay on often reads the return to normal as a slowdown.

Filter first, then ice

Fisher & Paykel wants the water filter installed and flushed before the ice maker is turned on, and the first full bin discarded. Air or particles left in a new filter show up as slow fills or discolored first cubes.

A flush through the ice tray

The column freezer can empty its ice tray on command to clear dust from manufacture and transport. We use the same step after repairs to confirm water reaches the tray.

Parts

Ice maker assemblies, water valves and filters are specific to the column or refrigerator-freezer family. Some integrated-model parts may need to be ordered.

Repair or replace

An integrated Fisher & Paykel column is fitted into cabinetry and is normally worth repairing when its ice maker, valve or filter fails. Replacement is worth discussing only for older freestanding units with other cooling problems.
