What is particular
to JennAir.

JennAir ice comes from column freezers, built-in side-by-side and French door models, and the JUIFN15HX and JUIFX15HX panel-ready undercounter units. The undercounter lights follow JennAir's freestanding ice maker help pages.

Columns with a switch for ice

JennAir column freezers have an Ice Maker Off control and a Max Ice setting. A column that has stopped making ice often has the ice maker switched off at the panel.

A filter that nags

When a JennAir column filter is 14 days overdue, the Replace Filter icon blinks seven times with three tones after each dispense. It stays lit until the reset is done.

Flush undercounter doors

The panel-ready undercounter unit uses an articulating hinge to sit flush with the cabinets. Service access means opening the door fully and sometimes easing the unit out.

Pump or gravity drain

JennAir sells the undercounter unit in a drain pump version and a gravity-drain version, and an accessory pump kit lifts water up to 10 feet. Which one is installed decides where a drain problem is found.

Parts

Column and undercounter parts are specific to JennAir's built-in platforms, and panel-ready units may need their panel removed for some repairs. Some parts may need to be ordered after the first visit.

Repair or replace

JennAir columns and panel-ready undercounter units are built into cabinetry, which favors repair for most ice problems. Replacement is worth weighing only when an older unit's sealed system fails.
