What is particular
to Miele.

Miele's MasterCool and built-in column lines include freezer columns such as the F 2462 Vi to F 2672 Vi family, some of them with an ice and water dispenser in the door. The model plate tells us whether a dispenser, an IntensiveClear filter and one or two ice drawers are fitted.

The drawer has to be the right one

Miele's ice maker only runs when it senses the correct ice cube drawer, which carries a magnet. A drawer swapped from another unit, or one not pushed fully in, stops ice production.

A dispenser column with its own lock

On freezer columns with a door dispenser, a system lock can disable every dispenser control. When the lock symbol is lit, the dispenser simply ignores presses.

Pressure between set limits

Miele asks for 29 to 116 psi at the water connection. Too little gives small or misshapen cubes, and too much can cause leaks at the connection.

A freezer that runs colder on purpose

With the ice maker on and a cool room, the freezer display can hold 0°F even when a warmer setting is chosen. Miele calls this normal: it keeps the ice maker working efficiently.

Parts

Miele ice makers, valves and filters for built-in columns come through Miele's own parts channel and are sometimes not stocked locally. We confirm the part number on the first visit so the second is the repair.

Repair or replace

A built-in Miele column is designed for a long life, so an ice maker, valve or dispenser repair is almost always the right choice. Replacement only makes sense after a sealed-system failure.

Why does my Miele freezer column show 0°F when I set it warmer?
Miele explains that with the ice maker on and a cool room, the column holds 0°F on purpose so the ice maker keeps working well. It is normal and needs no repair.
Why won't my Miele make ice after I moved the ice drawer?
The ice maker looks for a magnet in the correct ice cube drawer. Put the original drawer back and push it fully in; if production still does not start, book a visit.
How much water pressure does a Miele ice maker need?
Miele lists 29 to 116 psi at the water connection. Outside that range you can see small cubes on the low side or leaks on the high side.
Should I throw away the first ice from a new Miele dispenser?
Yes. Miele says the first 5 glasses of water and the first 30 to 40 ice cubes after start-up should not be used.
